Fees, Refunds and Cancellation Policy: Tax Agent Skill Sets

Applies to: FNSSS00005 Commercial Law for Tax Agents Skill Set and FNSSS00008 Tax Law for Tax Agents Skill Set (Tax documentation)
Version 1.4, issued 15 September 2026. Supersedes Version 1.3.
Read with the Participant Handbook and your enrolment agreement.

1. Purpose

This policy explains what you pay, when you pay it, and the circumstances in which your fees are refunded. It applies to the two tax agent skill sets purchased through the Platinum Professional Training online store.

It forms part of your enrolment agreement and is provided to you before you enrol.

2. Course fees

Skill set Fee Units included
FNSSS00005 Commercial Law for Tax Agents Skill Set $1,450 Three units: FNSTPB503, FNSTPB504, FNSTPB505
FNSSS00008 Tax Law for Tax Agents Skill Set (Tax documentation) $1,200 Two units: FNSACC522, FNSACC601

Fees are payable in full at the time of purchase, in Australian dollars.

These supplies are treated as GST-free education courses. No GST is charged on the course fee.

What your fee covers

  • All learning materials
  • All assessment, including reassessment at no charge
  • One supervised examination sitting for each unit
  • Trainer support for the duration of your enrolment period
  • Your statement of attainment on successful completion

What your fee does not cover

  • Missed or additional supervised examination sittings
  • Replacement documents

These are set out in clause 8.

3. Protection of prepaid fees

Each skill set is sold and paid for separately. Platinum Professional Training does not hold more than one skill set fee in advance from any student at any time, and the fee for each skill set sits below the prepaid fee threshold applying to registered training organisations.

If you intend to complete both skill sets, you purchase the second only after the first has commenced.

4. Eligibility, and when your enrolment takes effect

Students must be 18 years of age or over.

Payment and enrolment are two separate events.

Payment secures your place. Your course content is released to you as soon as you complete the enrolment requirements, which are the enrolment form, your unique student identifier, the language, literacy and numeracy check and the student declaration.

Your enrolment is finalised in our student records once we have verified your unique student identifier. Your statement of attainment cannot be issued until that verification is complete.

If you have paid but have not completed the enrolment requirements, your course content has not been released, you have not commenced the course, and clause 5 reflects that.

5. Refunds

5.1 If you change your mind

You receive a full refund with no deduction if you request it within 14 days of purchase and before your course content has been released.

5.2 After your course content is released

Once your course content has been released, your fee is not refundable, except as set out in clauses 5.3 to 5.6.

The materials are digital and available to you in full from the moment of release, which is why this is the point at which the position changes.

5.3 If we do not accept your enrolment

Where Platinum Professional Training declines to enrol you, your full fee is refunded with no deduction.

A language, literacy and numeracy result on its own is not grounds for declining an enrolment. We offer support and reasonable adjustment first, as described in the Participant Handbook. We decline an enrolment only where the course cannot reasonably be delivered to you.

5.4 If you do not complete the enrolment requirements

If you have paid but do not complete the enrolment requirements, we contact you at 5 days, 14 days and 30 days from your purchase.

If the requirements are still not complete 30 days after purchase, your enrolment lapses and your full fee is refunded with no deduction. You have received no training and you are not charged for it.

5.5 If we cancel or cease to deliver

Where Platinum Professional Training cancels a course, ceases to deliver it, or ceases to operate as a registered training organisation, you receive a full refund of all fees paid for training that has not been delivered.

This clause applies regardless of anything else in this policy and cannot be excluded.

5.6 Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy removes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our training is a service, and you are entitled to have it provided with due care and skill, fit for the purpose we have described, and within a reasonable time. Those rights apply in addition to this policy.

5.7 What is not refunded

  • Withdrawal after your course content has been released, other than under clauses 5.5 and 5.6
  • Not achieving competency
  • Not completing within your enrolment period
  • A change in your personal or work circumstances
  • Cancellation of your enrolment for serious misconduct, as described in the Participant Handbook

In the first four situations you may instead request a transfer under clause 6.

5.8 Hardship

In cases of extreme hardship you may appeal to the Chief Executive Officer, who may vary this policy in your favour. Nothing in this policy prevents that.

6. Transfers and extensions

If you cannot continue, you may request one transfer of your enrolment to a later intake, within 12 months of your original purchase, at no cost. The request must be made in writing before your enrolment period ends.

Enrolments cannot be transferred to another person, because assessment is tied to you and to your unique student identifier.

7. Enrolment period

Your enrolment period for each skill set is 12 months from the date your enrolment takes effect.

If you have not completed within that period you may apply for an extension. One extension of up to three months is granted at no cost where you have made genuine progress.

8. Other fees

Fee Amount When it applies
Reassessment No charge Reassessment is always available to you at no cost
Missed or additional supervised examination sitting $150 Where you do not attend a booked sitting without at least 48 hours notice, or require a sitting beyond the one included in your fee
Replacement statement of attainment or certificate $55 including GST Reissue of a document already provided to you

The supervised sitting fee exists because a supervisor's time is committed in advance. It is not a reassessment fee and it does not limit your right to reassessment at no charge.

9. Issuing your statement of attainment

Your statement of attainment is issued within 30 days where you have completed the course, been assessed as competent in the units, and met your financial obligations to Platinum Professional Training.

10. How to request a refund

Write to support@ppt.edu.au with your name, the skill set you purchased, your order number, and the reason for your request.

We give you a decision within 10 business days.

Approved refunds are paid within 14 days of the decision, to the payment method you originally used.

11. If you disagree with a decision

You may use the complaints and appeals process set out in the Participant Handbook. In summary:

  • Raise the matter with your trainer, or with the Chief Executive Officer where the matter concerns your trainer
  • If it is not resolved, lodge a formal complaint or appeal on the complaint or appeal form
  • We acknowledge receipt in writing within one business day and record it in our complaints and appeals register
  • We aim to resolve complaints within three weeks. If a matter takes longer than 60 days we tell you why, in writing
  • If it remains unresolved, the matter may be escalated to an independent person or panel agreed by both parties

You may also contact the Australian Skills Quality Authority, or the National Training Complaints Hotline on 13 38 73.

12. Payment methods

Fees are paid by card at the time of purchase through the Platinum Professional Training online store. Payment by bank transfer is available on request.

These skill sets are not sold on a deposit or instalment basis. Each skill set is a single payment, and the second skill set is purchased only after the first has commenced.
