FAQ
Welcome to Platinum Professional Training’s Accounting Internship FAQs
Looking to start your accounting career in Australia? This FAQ page answers the most common questions about our High Achiever Program and Ultimate Success Program, covering everything from gaining local experience to securing your first accounting job. Here, you’ll find clear guidance on practical skills, internship details, job outcomes, and how Platinum helps international students and career changers become job-ready.
Why do I need this training? Can I just do the accounting internship with Platinum Accounting?
Employers in accounting want candidates with practical, job-ready skills, such as:
-
Completing Business Activity Statements (BAS)
-
Using accounting software like Xero and MYOB
-
Handling real-world bookkeeping and payroll tasks
University courses teach theory but often lack opportunities for hands-on practice. Without this experience, graduates are less competitive in the job market.
Our High Achiever Program and Ultimate Success Program provide structured, practical training tailored to roles like Accounting Assistant or Junior Accountant. We ensure you learn the exact skills employers expect before applying them in a real-world internship.
Note: The internship component is free and designed to help you test and apply your new skills.
Do I have to pay for the training? Why?
Yes, just like attending university or TAFE, our programs involve training fees. We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that provides accredited knowledge and career skills.
The internship portion is free and fully covered by Platinum Professional Training.
Where can I complete my accounting internship?
You can complete the internship 100% online, giving you the flexibility to learn and work from anywhere.
Will I work on real accounting data during the internship?
Yes. Our internships are conducted through our sister company, Platinum Accounting Australia (CPA Public Practice), which handles a high volume of clients and accounting data. You will:
-
Work on real internal accounts we have authority over
-
Practice using realistic business scenarios (with client data anonymized for confidentiality)
-
Complete tasks that simulate a real accounting role
Please note: All internships use data that has already been processed to avoid billable errors. Our internship program is approved by Fair Work Australia.
Will I get an accounting job after the internship?
Our students have an 87% job success rate within 3 months of completing the program (measured across 10,000+ students since 2008).
You can read real examples of students who landed accounting roles here: Success Stories.
