How We Measure Our 87% Job Success Rate

Most training providers publish an outcome figure without saying what is behind it. This page explains exactly how ours is calculated, so you can judge it for yourself.

Where the figure comes from

As a Registered Training Organisation, we are required by the Australian Skills Quality Authority to survey our students about their training and their outcomes. That survey is the basis of our figure. It is not a marketing exercise we designed ourselves.

Of the students who responded, 87 per cent had secured a role.

The response rate

Approximately 90 per cent of the students we surveyed responded.

We publish that because it is the first question anyone should ask about a survey based statistic. A high sounding rate drawn from a handful of replies means very little. Ours is drawn from the large majority of the students we contacted, which is why we are comfortable standing behind it.

What counts as a success

Securing a role after training. Our student records go back to 2008, and we have trained more than 10,000 students since then.

A large number of our students never finish the course

This sounds like a criticism. It is not.

The most common reason a Platinum student does not complete the program is that they are hired part way through and leave to start the job. They came to us to become employable, and once they were, the training had done its work.

Those students count as successes. They are also the clearest evidence we have that the program does what it is meant to do, because the market hired them before they finished it.

The roles our students take

Predominantly entry level and mid level accounting positions.

Entry level roles include accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounts clerk and accounts administration. Mid level roles include accountant, financial accountant and management accountant.

How we stay in touch

Beyond the formal survey, we follow up with students to find out where they end up. That information reaches us in several ways: students telling us directly, our own follow up contact, LinkedIn, and confirmation from employers.

We have been training accountants since 2008. What we do not claim

We do not guarantee employment, and no training provider honestly can. What we provide is practical experience in a CPA public practice, supervision by qualified accountants, a written reference, and support through the job search. The rest depends on you and on the market.
