Refund Policy: All Other Programs

Applies to: all Platinum Professional Training programs, other than the tax agent skill sets, which are covered by their own policy.
Version 2.3, issued 15 September 2026. Supersedes Version 2.2.
Read with the Participant Handbook and your enrolment agreement.

1. Purpose

This policy explains what you pay, when you pay it, and the circumstances in which your fees are refunded. It forms part of your enrolment agreement and is provided to you before you enrol.

It is written in plain terms because you should be able to understand your position without advice.

2. Course fees

Course fees are set out in the course information for your program and confirmed in your enrolment agreement. All fees payable, including any fee that may become payable later, are disclosed to you before you enrol.

Fees are quoted in Australian dollars.

3. Deposit and price hold

A deposit of $300 secures your place and holds the advertised course fee for 14 days from the date the deposit is paid.

If you withdraw within 14 days of paying your deposit, the deposit is refunded to you in full.

After 14 days the deposit is applied to your course fee and the price hold ends.

4. Refunds

4.1 Within the cooling-off period

You may request a full refund within 14 days of paying your course fee in full, provided your induction session has not been held and access to the online learning portal has not been provided.

A refund under this clause carries no deduction.

4.2 After induction or portal access

Once your induction session has been held or access to the online learning portal has been provided, your course fee is not refundable, except as set out in clauses 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5.

This is because the program has commenced and the learning materials are available to you in full from that point.

4.3 If we do not accept your enrolment

Where Platinum Professional Training declines to enrol you, all fees you have paid are refunded in full with no deduction.

A language, literacy and numeracy result on its own is not grounds for declining an enrolment. We offer support and reasonable adjustment first, as described in the Participant Handbook. We decline an enrolment only where the program cannot reasonably be delivered to you, and we refer you to appropriate support if that happens.

4.4 If we cancel or cease to deliver

Where Platinum Professional Training cancels a program, ceases to deliver it, or ceases to operate as a registered training organisation, you receive a full refund of all fees paid for training that has not been delivered.

This clause applies regardless of anything else in this policy and cannot be excluded.

4.5 Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy removes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our training is a service, and you are entitled to have it provided with due care and skill, fit for the purpose we have described, and within a reasonable time. Those rights apply in addition to this policy.

4.6 What is not refunded

  • Withdrawal after your induction session or portal access, other than under clauses 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5
  • Not achieving competency
  • Not completing within your enrolment period
  • A change in your personal or work circumstances
  • Cancellation of your enrolment for serious misconduct, as described in the Participant Handbook

In the first four situations you may instead request a transfer under clause 5.

5. Transfers

If you cannot continue, you may request one transfer of your enrolment to a later intake, within 12 months of your original payment, at no cost. The request must be made in writing before your enrolment period ends.

Enrolments cannot be transferred to another person, because assessment is tied to you and to your unique student identifier.

6. Instalment plans

Where you have agreed an instalment plan, the payment dates are set out in your enrolment agreement.

If a payment is more than 7 days overdue we will contact you.

If a payment is more than 30 days overdue your enrolment may be suspended until the outstanding amount is paid. No fee is charged to lift a suspension.

The course fee agreed at the time of your enrolment does not change.

7. Returning students

If your enrolment has lapsed, or you have completed a program with us and wish to study again, a discount applies.

  • 50 per cent off the course fee if you re-enrol in the same program
  • $100 off the course fee if you enrol in a different program

One discount applies per enrolment and the discounts cannot be combined with each other. Ask us before you pay so the discount is applied at the time of enrolment.

8. Protection of prepaid fees

Platinum Professional Training does not hold more than the prepaid fee threshold applying to registered training organisations in unearned fees from any student at any time.

Prepaid fees are fees collected before the relevant training has been delivered. Until the training is delivered, that money is repaid to you either through delivery or as a refund.

9. Other fees

Fee Amount When it applies
Reassessment No charge Reassessment is always available to you at no cost
Replacement statement of attainment or certificate $55 including GST Reissue of a document already provided to you

10. Hardship

In cases of extreme hardship you may appeal to the Chief Executive Officer, who may vary this policy in your favour. Nothing in this policy prevents that.

11. How to request a refund

Write to support@ppt.edu.au with your name, the program you enrolled in, your order or invoice number, and the reason for your request.

We give you a decision within 10 business days.

Approved refunds are paid within 14 days of the decision, to the payment method you originally used.

12. If you disagree with a decision

You may use the complaints and appeals process set out in the Participant Handbook. In summary:

  • Raise the matter with your trainer, or with the Chief Executive Officer where the matter concerns your trainer
  • If it is not resolved, lodge a formal complaint or appeal on the complaint or appeal form
  • We acknowledge receipt in writing within one business day and record it in our complaints and appeals register
  • We aim to resolve complaints within three weeks. If a matter takes longer than 60 days we tell you why, in writing
  • If it remains unresolved, the matter may be escalated to an independent person or panel agreed by both parties

You may also contact the Australian Skills Quality Authority, or the National Training Complaints Hotline on 13 38 73.

13. Issuing your statement of attainment

Your statement of attainment is issued within 30 days where you have completed the program, been assessed as competent, and met your financial obligations to Platinum Professional Training.
